Mcleodganj is located at 2080 meters above sea level and is only 4 kilometres away from the town of Dharamshala.
How does one reach Mcleodganj?
There are four ways of reaching Mcleodganj:
Air: Air India and Spice Jet run daily flights from Delhi to Dharamshala. However, if Dharamshala is experiencing iffy weather, these flights tend to get delayed / cancelled. We help arrange taxis from the airport to The Posh Hotel and vice-versa.
Taxi:The most comfortable way to reach Mcleodganj and experience the beautiful Himalayas is to drive through the roads. By taxi, Mcloedganj is an 8-10 hours drive from Delhi and a 6-8 hours drive from Manali / Shimla. The Posh Hotel has its own set of comfortable cars and reliable drivers that would pick you up from any destination in North India.
Bus:Daily overnight air-conditioned and non-air conditioned deluxe buses run from Delhi / Manali / Shimla to Mcleodganj / Dharamshala. Contact us to book your bus tickets.
Train:The closest railway station is Pathankot (Station code: PTK / PTKC). From Pathankot to Mcleodganj, it is a 2 hours drive by taxi and a 4 hours commute by bus. Contact us if you need help in arranging a taxi from the railway station.
How many people can stay in one room?
A maximum of 3 people can stay in each room. However, the third person will be charged as an extra person and is entitled to an extra mattress only.
Do you have onsite laundry service?
Yes, we provide a reliable laundry service and great prices. Drop your laundry in the morning before 10 and pick it up in the evening.
Does your hotel offer Currency Exchange?
Yes, we do. Contact the reception for help.
Can baggage be stored at the hotel?
Yes, we have a safe storage facility at the hotel.
Is a doctor available at the hotel?
A doctor can be made available to your room with prior notice.
What time is your Check-in and Check-out time?
Check-in time is 1:00pm and Check-out time is 11:00am.
Do you accommodate Early Check-in and Late Check-out?
Yes, but it is subject to availability. If you want to check in a few hours early or stay for a few hours longer, you could pay little extra and contact to the front desk.
Does my room reservation require any guarantee?
Yes. You could confirm your booking by paying securely on our website.
Are your prices fixed?
Our prices are usually fixed throughout the year. However, these rates can be modified for certain dates in the year. Please check with us for our latest prices.
Can I expect any discount?
Discounts may be offered only to guests who intend to stay for longer or larger groups.
How about I book months in advance? Does that make me eligible for a discount?
If you book for the peak season in advance, you are eligible for our best prices.
How do I cancel my hotel reservation?
You could drop us an email on theposhhotel@gmail.com regarding the cancellation. Based on our cancellation policy, your payment will be refunded.
What is the cancellation policy?
First night payment for all booked rooms are non-refundable.For cancellations done before 15 days prior to check in date: 20% of booking amount will be charged.For Cancellations done before 7 days prior to check in date: 50% of booking amount will be charged.No show policy: 100% of booking amount will be charged.The no-show policy will be applied when the guest does not show up at the hotel within 24 hours of his stipulated check in time. In such a case, the reservation will be released. Exceptions can be made if the guest establishes contact with the hotel management in writing (email) before the room is released.It is up to The Posh Hotel if it wants to inform the guest when the room is released in a case of no show. What is the cancellation policy?
Can I modify my dates after making a confirmed booking?
No modifications in dates will be entertained seven days prior to check in.
After checking in, extension of reservations is subject to availability.Curtailing the number of days after checking in and making a confirmed online booking is not allowed. In such a case, no refund will be issued.During check-in, if the guest is not sure about when he/she wants to check out, the guest needs to inform the manager at the reception at least 24 hours in advance before checking out. If the guest fails to do this, the guest needs to pay the room tariff for one extra day.
Does your hotel provide parking?
Yes. The Posh Hotel is located on Jogiwara road and there is safe parking available, however this is limited in number and is subject to availability. Please call and confirm with us.
I’m coming by my own car. Where do I park it?
We have parking available with us. In case there is no availability, Mcleodganj has a safe public parking space that is maintained by the government. It is located 500 meters away from The Posh Hotel.
Can I use Credit / Debit cards to book a room online?
Yes, you can securely pay online on our website to book a room
Can I use Credit / Debit cards to pay at the reception?
Yes. We have this facility available. But due to weather conditions, if internet issues arise, cash would be acceptable.
Are there any ATMs nearby?
Yes, for your benefit, there are many ATMs close to The Posh Hotel from where you can withdraw cash.
Do you accept foreign currency?
We prefer payment in Indian Rupees but in an exceptional case, the management may or may not choose to accept foreign currency.
Mcleoodganj Weather (April – June)
Average High: 23 C Average ; Low: 17 C. Days are pleasant and dry; nights are cool.Carry some cotton clothes, sunscreen and a light sweater for the occasional nippy night.
Mcleodganj Weather (July – September)
Average High: 24 C. Average; Low: 16 C. It’s monsoon and it rains almost every day for a few hours. Days tend to get foggy.Remember to bring your rain-gear.
Mcleodganj Weather (October – November)
Average High: 18 C. Average ; Low: 12 C. Post Monsoon, we have more days of sun but the weather begins to dip as we move towards winter. Carry some light woolens if you are not a big fan of the cold.
Mcleodganj Weather (December – March)
Average High: 14 C. Average Low: 5 C; Cold days and chilly nights. Expect some occasional snow too.Carry your woolens.
Do you provide pick up from Dharamshala/Delhi/ Chandigarh airport or Pathankot Railway station?
Yes, we do. Just drop us a mail with your flight / train details and a comfortable car and a reliable driver will wait for you at the airport / railway station.
How long will it take?
From Dharamshala airport, it is a half an hour drive.From New Delhi airport, it is a scenic drive which takes about 8-10 hours.From Chandigarh airport, it takes about 5-7 hours to reach Mcloedganj.From Pathankot railway station, it is a 2-3 hours drive.
